50 Shades of beige
With the change in season our thoughts are turning to the comforts of winter, yet we still want to retain as much of the light as possible in our homes. A neutral floor tile, might then be the best option.
Natural-looking, neutral floor tiles such as our Loire Ecru or our San Gimignano Beige ranges can be a beautiful backdrop to more colourful elements of a room such as accessories or a favourite piece of furniture, yet still retain a feeling of brightness, allowing the light to bounce around. These neutral tiles are also the best floors to lay, in terms of attractiveness, durability and versatility.
Flooring such as this is designed to withstand the ravages of busy family life yet still looks beautiful, and also works to unify a space.
When we use natural colours and textures in our homes, it exudes a simple beauty that can be dressed up, or down depending on the occasion or time of year. Heathland beiges and greys on the floors, walls and large soft furnishings in natural materials not only radiate natural splendour and charm but they work well with all other colours on the spectrum. Add accessories of deep orange or rich green to a neutral scheme for an autumnal feel, sumptuous dark reds bring texture and richness to winter schemes and yet come Christmas, sparkly silver gives a lovely festive feel. Or simply leave the room completely neutral throughout for an elegant, refined look.
One of my favourite looks at the moment is a wall of beige mosaic tiles such as our Quartz Beige Mosaico range or the Split slate Mosaic quartz range. The texture and beauty these bring to a room is just gorgeous, especially when teamed with reclaimed wood furniture and plenty of rich textures, and then large format neutral floor tiles such as our Savannah Beige range. This mix of harmonious materials creates and vibrant textures speak of a subtle richness, charm and personality.
