Lisa Jane's Kitchen
My husband Rob chose the kitchen wall tiles; his absolute favourite tile to look at and work with is Siva Noce Natural Travertine with a tumbled finish. Being an experienced and professional tiler he gets to see all kinds of styles and effects created with tiles, but his personal favourite has to be the travertine natural stone look. I was also happy with this decision for the overall look and style of the kitchen.
"I loved sourcing accessories for this look as it is so fun to mix the styles!"
Before, After
The style I was aiming for and accomplished was similar to an old fashioned cottage but with a modern twist. I achieved this by taking natural elements and mixing them with more contemporary accessories - I loved sourcing accessories for this look as it is so fun to mix the styles!
Materials used included the natural travertine tiles on the wall, elements of wood and other natural materials such as the granite worktop. I chose cottage style cupboards but combined modern stainless steel handles. For accessories I chose wooden storage pots with a contemporary design. It takes the natural beauty of materials and adds a modern twist, which really appeals to me. It is a joy spending time in my new kitchen!
Design Tips
