Interior styles upcoming for 2017
Interior style trends for 2016 was an eclectic mix of opulent and rich copper colours, moody blue walls and Scandi-style furniture. And 2017 too is set to be a corker with lots of natural and natural-looking materials, cosy spaces and simple furniture designs.
The colour choice of designers this year will be green, in keeping with the natural theme. Terracotta will trend this year too, with other warm, vibrant colours (part of the Hygge trend!) Metals and dark woods will feature also. So how do wall and floor tiles complement these upcoming trends?
With green, and the various hues thereof, as the colour to watch for 2017, you may think it prudent to stick to neutral colours for your floor and wall tiles, yet green is such a versatile colour that it goes with almost everything. For instance, you’d never think it goes with grey, but it does, beautifully!
Green brings balance to your home. It is an earthy, natural colour that is bold and gentle at the same time and breathes life into any interior. If you’re thinking of using green in your scheme you can’t go wrong with using our Puglia tiles as an accompaniment. These dark tiles create a cocooning effect, making your home contemporary and cosy. Or if dark floors are not your thing then they come in white, or consider something from our San Gimignano range.
Another earthy upcoming trend this year will be terracotta. The warm and charming nature of terracotta is making a comeback and is set to adorn many a floor and feature wall in the most stylish homes. The beauty of this vibrant material is that it creates a warm characterful interior that perfectly reflects the Hygge movement. Take a look at our Cuenca Terra for your floor, with its subtle rusty tones, or the deeper, warmer tones of the Marmi Antichi Antico for your walls.
Copper is no longer the metal of favour. Instead, we will be seeing more burnished, darker steels and worn or antiqued metals. Stay ahead of this trend by choosing our Zanzibar Glass Mosaic tile for your bathroom, and accessorise with complimenting light features.
There is nothing more beautiful than dark wood and green in the same room, they get on so well, and together they create a relaxing yet vibrant haven. So stay on trend and install some of our Timber wood-effect flooring to accompany your sage green walls for a home that is truly natural-looking, modern and beautiful.
The Hygge trend is set to continue, and all of these elements work well in creating that cosy feeling in your home. Remember to adorn your new 2017 interior with plenty of houseplants, subtle lighting and fluffy blankets.
