Let the Seascape inspire your Bathroom

seascape

Landscapes provide rich inspiration for a harmonious colour scheme, and seascapes are no exception. From sheltered, sandy coves to windswept shores, from the white of chalk cliffs to the golden yellow of sandy beaches. Visit the sandy bays of Cornwall or take inspiration from the brilliant cobalts and whites of the warmer waters of the Mediterranean. The seaside and its surrounding landscape contain a wealth of beautiful colour inspiration that will work harmoniously and naturally in your home.

Walk along any beach and you’ll spot a variety of colours, from bright blue to mossy green, coffee shades to creamy whites – a wonderfully diverse palette you can use in your home, but particularly in the bathroom, where an oceanic theme works so well.

Be inspired by our azure blue water Antique Pearl Aqua mosaic tiles with its rippling blue iridescent surface or our Jewel mosaic, a sand mosaic with detailed pieces of gold/bronze or silver/sapphire mosaic that shimmer like sun-drenched water. The Brick Blue tile, the colour of the Mediterranean Sea, will make you want to take a quick dip. Then there’s the Shimmer Blue wall tile, a delicate, pale shade of tile that looks almost pearlescent. The Qubic Amethyst Glass mosaic brings to mind the rock pools you’ll find on British beaches, scattered with sparkling puddles of sea, which are host to treasures of beachy fauna.

These vibrant tiles need a calming influence so team them with white wall tiles as a backdrop such as our Mantra Blanco metro tile, and a white bathroom suite to help the space feel clear and uncluttered.

For the flooring choose sand-like beige floor tiles like our Tour Caramel, a matt tile, which gives a grounded feel to the room or the Crema Satin, with its various sandy tones, to create the effect of the sparkling sea washing over creamy-coloured sand on a Caribbean beach. Alternatively, complete the look with Wood-effect tiles, to give a warmer, softer finish to your seascape-themed bathroom.

Like an inviting beach, coastal bathrooms should feel airy and breezy, so use minimal furniture and decoration. A distinct palette of white and shades of blue, together with tones of pale beige are at the heart of this style. Finish it off with a light smattering of nautical accessories and fittings - perhaps a porthole mirror or a piece of beautiful drift wood to create a bathroom that rivals even the most beautiful and dramatic coastal landscape.
