FAQs
Do zellige tiles need sealing?
Glazed zellige is naturally water-resistant, so sealing isn’t essential, but optional sealing helps protect stains and maintain vibrancy over time.
Are zellige tiles suitable for floors?
They’re best on low-traffic or dry areas like powder rooms or feature floors. Avoid in high-traffic zones, staircases, or freeze-thaw climates due to potential wear and trip hazards.
Why is each tile different?
Glaze application, kiln position, firing conditions and artisan technique all contribute to colour, sheen and texture variations, which makes every tile unique.
Do they cost more than regular ceramic tile?
Yes. The skilled craftsmanship and hand-made nature make zellige tiles a premium product—worth it for their aesthetic richness and durability.
Can I order tile samples first?
Yes! You can order 4 free cut samples, or full-size samples priced under £1. You will then be charged for each tile in addition. Samples are usually dispatched within 2–3 working days via DPD. Some Special Order tiles can take 3 weeks due to shipping times.
Can I return my tiles?
Yes, returns must be in full box quantities and in resalable condition. Returns require palletised packaging for collection, unless you return the boxes to one of our stores. Return requests must be made within 14 days of delivery, and items returned within the next 14 days. A 20% restocking fee applies if over 20% of the order is returned. Special Order and LVT tiles are non-refundable and non-returnable, unless in exceptional circumstances, please order a sample and/or double check all specifications before ordering.
