FAQs
Do chequerboard tiles show marks easily?
Porcelain is a hardwearing material that’s easy to keep clean. The combination of light and dark tiles also helps disguise everyday marks and surface dust.
Are chequerboard tiles easy to install?
Yes. Their square shape makes the layout straightforward. We recommend using a good quality adhesive and grout suited to your project.
Which grout colour works best?
That depends on the look you want. White grout keeps things light and airy, dark grout gives contrast and definition, and ivory offers a soft, classic finish.
Are these tiles suitable for high-traffic areas?
Absolutely. Porcelain is highly durable and well suited to areas such as kitchens, hallways and cloakrooms that see frequent use.
Can I order tile samples first?
Yes! You can order 4 free cut samples, or full-size samples priced under £1. You will then be charged for each tile in addition. Samples are usually dispatched within 2–3 working days via DPD. Some Special Order tiles can take 3 weeks due to shipping times.
Can I return my tiles?
Yes, returns must be in full box quantities and in resalable condition. Returns require palletised packaging for collection, unless you return the boxes to one of our stores. Return requests must be made within 14 days of delivery, and items returned within the next 14 days. A 20% restocking fee applies if over 20% of the order is returned. Special Order and LVT tiles are non-refundable and non-returnable, unless in exceptional circumstances, please order a sample and/or double check all specifications before ordering.
